Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Course

The RI Allied Health & Safety Institute Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training
Program is a Rhode Island Department of Health-approved course – NATP 00119 since
April 12, 2012.
The course will be an online hybrid, virtual hybrid classes with in-person skills and clinical
training.
Students will need a computer and secure internet connection as Zoom or other recommended
platforms that will be used for the online lecture. All classes will be monitored for compliance.

Career Pathways

Upon successful completion of the CNA program, graduates can pursue career paths in various
healthcare settings. Examples include roles in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home
health care. Graduates may start as Certified Nursing Assistants and, with experience, advance to
roles such as Lead CNA, Charge Nurse, or even pursue further education to become Registered
Nurses.
Graduates will be able to work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, client’s homes, assisted
living facilities, physician office.
Classes are conducted with 10-15 students admitted in a class.

In the CNA training program, students will be evaluated through a combination of theoretical
exams, practical skill assessments, and clinical performance reviews. For example, students will
undergo a mid-term practical assessment where they will be required to demonstrate core
competencies such as patient transfer techniques, vital sign monitoring, feeding, range-of￾motion, bed bath, etc., under the supervision of a clinical instructor.
Asynchronized Online Hybrid learners’ interactive activities and progress will be monitored
weekly (every Wednesday) by Cinematic Health Progress Report.
